Here is a small example of how to conjure up a small report from Navision (in the future called "Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central") using Power BI. This report accesses the general ledger of the accounting department and links the information to the G/L accounts.
It becomes especially interesting when you set the time filters dynamically:
- If the total result is always that for the current fiscal year
- If the monthly result is always the one for the current month (alternatively for the last completed month)
Then you can set the report nicely as an email subscription, so you always have all the costs in view.
